A: Unfortunately you can’t reduce body fat from a specific area but by following a consistent nutrition and exercise program you will lose from all over your body as your genetics dictate.

A: To lose body fat you must create a calorie deficit which means your body must use more calories (or energy) than it consumes. It is important to have a balanced nutritional plan that includes fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat and fish, grains and nuts, is low in saturated fats and avoids processed foods where possible.
Q: How much weight should I expect to lose each week?
A: A realistic amount of weight to lose each week would be from 0.5 – 1kg. Any more than that would probably mean that you are losing lean muscle from your body which would have a detrimental effect on your metabolic rate.
Q: What is the best age to be undertaking a fitness regime?
A: You can start at any age but it is important that you consult with a fitness professional in order that a suitable program can be designed for your specific circumstances whether it be injury, illness or other special needs.
